AIÓNIA: A LOVE LETTER TO GREECE

Meaning 'eternal' in Greek, Aiónia is more than the name of our latest collection - it's a reflection of the memories, places and feeling of home that inspired it. We sat down with our co-founder, Evangeline, to talk about her connection to Greece, the making of the collection, and the stories behind Aiónia.

WHAT WAS THE FIRST FEELING YOU WANTED AIÓNIA TO EVOKE?

We wanted it to feel familiar. The kind of feeling you get when you return somewhere that instantly feels like home. As someone with Greek heritage, so many of my happiest memories are tied to summers there. Aiónia isn't about recreating those memories exactly, it's about capturing that feeling of ease, warmth and nostalgia that stays with you long after you've left.

WHEN CREATING AIÓNIA, WHAT MOMENTS, PLACES OR MEMORIES FROM GREECE DID YOU FIND YOURSELF RETURNING TO FOR INSPIRATION?

The quieter moments, more than anything. Walking through villages before everyone wakes up, swimming in the early evening when the water is completely still, dinners by the sea. We weren't trying to reference Greece in an obvious way. It was more about capturing the rhythm of being there and letting that influence the colours, textures and mood of the collection.

IF SOMEONE WAS VISITING GREECE FOR THE FIRST TIME, WHAT WOULD YOU HOPE THEY EXPERIENCE?

I'd hope they slow down. Greece isn't somewhere you need to rush through trying to see everything. The best moments usually aren't planned. They're sitting at a taverna long after you've finished eating, swimming at a beach you stumbled across, wandering through little streets with nowhere particular to be. That's the Greece I love.
